Mary Morris

Mary Jenkins Morris, 96, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Morris was born October 18, 1923 in Richmond County to the late Benjamin Jerome Jenkins and the late Mary Haywood Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by husband, John Louis Morris; son, William Louis Morris; brothers, Benjamin Jenkins, James Jenkins, John Jenkins, and Rev. Henry Jenkins.

Mary enjoyed doing crocheting, cross stitching, coloring and word search. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary loved the Lord and was a very caring person.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM -1:45 PM, Monday, June 8, 2020, at South Albemarle Baptist Church, 1005 S. 2nd Street in Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Danny Laws. Burial will follow the service at the White Crest Baptist Church Cemetery at 1051 River Rd., Mt. Gilead.

Survivors include daughter, Norma Mabry and husband Dwight of Stanfield; granddaughters; Yvette Godwin and husband Scott of Stanfield and Erica Godwin and husband Paul of Locust; great-granddaughters, Hannah Griffin and husband Jeffrey of Stanfield and Abby Godwin; great-grandsons, Andrew Godwin and Will Godwin; great-great-granddaughter, Eliza Jane Griffin; sister, Hazel Blake and husband Don of Mt. Gilead; and brother, Robert Jenkins of Biscoe.
