Mary Oglesby

Mary Elizabeth Oglesby, Age 89 of , Harrisburg, NC, passed away on October 03, 2009 at Carillon Assisted Living in Harrisburg. Born in Cabarrus County on November 18, 1919,Elizabeth Oglesby was preceded in death by her mother Lula Stafford, her father-Zeb Stafford, her spouse William "Bill" Wirt Oglesby, Jr. in 1992, her son Billy Mack Oglesby, her sisters Evelyn Horney, Mildred McCachren, and her brothers Joe Stafford, Caldwell Stafford, and Robert Stafford. She was a retired Teacher’s Assistant and a bus driver with Cabarrus County Schools and was a member of Harrisburg Presbyterian Church. She was an active lifetime member of Harrisburg Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Cheerful Club and was a member of the Women's Circle. She graduated from Harrisburg High School and attended Mitchell Community College where she was on the tennis team. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083. The family will meet at the home of her daughter, Patricia Johnstone, 6727 Hickory Ridge Road,Harrisburg. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 03:00 PM 04:00 PM at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday,October 06, 2009 at 04:00 PM at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. John Muse officiating. Burial will follow at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Elizabeth Oglesby was survived by her Daughter Patricia Johnstone of Harrisburg NC, her grandchild Anne Elizabeth Johnstone.
