Mary Peters

Mary Joy Peters, a loving wife and mother passed on March  17, 2021 at the age of 77 in her Concord, NC home surrounded by her loving friends and family.

Joy was born on December 23, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio.  She was raised, along with her brother Wayne, by her mother Madeline Schneider.

She met the man of her dreams, Sam Peters on a blind date and was married on September 4, 1971 in a small house ceremony. They were happily married for almost 50 years.  Joy was a devoted wife and a dedicated mother. She enjoyed crafting, reading, sewing, and crocheting; as well as playing cards with friends.  Some of Joy’s fondest memories are of times camping at Honey Doo Campground and taking several vacations with Don and Sue Deeb, and Joe and Alice Ucello, as well as their trip to Hawaii and taking many trips to the beach with her cousins.

Mary Joy, who preferred to go by Joy, is survived by her Husband Sam and her three children Catina Husney and husband Michael; Michael Peters and wife Ruth; and Sam Peters and wife Keri; her three grandchildren Amber, Michael, and Edan; as well as her four great-grandchildren Samantha, Jeremy, Scarlett, and Tatem.
