Mary Ritchie

Mary Rhodes Ritchie, 88, of Concord, is celebrating her new body in Christ as of July 12, 2013. We will be celebrating and honoring her life at Groce Funeral Home. She was born September 3, 1924 to the late Arthur Alexander and Stella Lyda Rhodes in Henderson County. After graduating from Edneyville High School in Edneyville, NC, she attended Women's College (now UNC-G) and received her BA degree in Business from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory. She enjoyed an active church and community life while also being employed by Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services for 30+ years. Upon retirement, she and her husband Robert enjoyed many wonderful memories with family and friends, both in their retirement home in Gerton and at the family's home in Concord. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ritchie is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Robert Frank Ritchie. She is survived by her; children, Rosilyn Lynn Ritchie, Renee White, Rosemary Jones, Robin Linker, Risa Colberg and Robert Rhodes Ritchie; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
