Mary Russell

Mary Lois Bowers Russell, age 84, of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at CMC-NE. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Friday, January 20 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 21 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 27726 Hatley Farm Road, Albemarle, at 2:00 PM, with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. David Howard, Rev. Marvin Huneycutt and Rev. Franklin Sanders. Burial will follow at Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Russell was born in Stanly County on December 31, 1927, to the late Hobart Daniel Bowers and the late Dorothy Efird Bowers. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Burleyson and granddaughter, Jackie Lowder. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joel Arlie Russell, of the home; two sons, Junior Lowder and Steve Lowder, both of Albemarle; and two brothers, Hobart Efird Bowers and Dwight Heath Bowers, both of CA; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 27726 Hatley Farm Road, Albemarle, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Russell family.
