Mary Stratton

Mary Anne Presson Stratton, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mary Anne was born September 20, 1947 in Mecklenburg County to the late Leon and Polly Presson.

Mary Anne graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1965 and attended Mercy School of Nursing.  She married Buddy on April 7, 1967 and they lovingly raised two children in Harrisburg.  Mary Anne was a member of Harrisburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.  She was a strong, humble, caring, and loving person.  She will be remembered for her kind heart and gentle spirit.  Most of all, Mary Anne was a loving wife, mother and Nana.  She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

A graveside service in celebration of Mary Anne's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Meg Skidmore.

Survivors include beloved husband of 54 years, George "Buddy" Stratton; daughter, Kathy Stratton of Harrisburg; son, Bob Stratton and wife, Julie, of Concord; grandson, Matt Grindstaff of Harrisburg; brother, Don Presson and wife, Reese, of Charlotte; niece, Dona Lisk of Norwood; and nephew, Nic Presson of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harrisburg Presbyterian Church, Novant Health Hospice or the charity of your choice.
