Mary Tucker

Mary Lee Biggers Tucker, age 84, of Locust, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC, surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At other times, the family will meet at her home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Locust, with a 30 minute state. The service will by officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn and Rev. Rick Durham. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs.Tucker was born in Stanly County on January 11, 1927, to the late Hiram Phylas “H.P.” Biggers and the late Minnie Julian Harwood Biggers. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Curtis Eugene Tucker, of the home; sons, Gene Tucker and wife Nancy of Locust, NC, Ron Tucker and wife Trisha of Denver, NC, Jerry Tucker and wife Angie of Locust, NC; sister, Ramelle Lowder and husband Cliff of Concord, NC; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Tucker loved flowers, gardening, and cooking, but most importantly, she loved her family and her Lord. If someone left her house hungry, it was their own fault. The family wishes to thank Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis, Hospice of Cabarrus County, and her caregiver, Helen McGee.
