Mary Walker

Mary Elizabeth Lamm Walker, 71 years of age, of Locust, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Carillon Assisted Living in Monroe. Mary was born October 10, 1942 in Johnston County, NC to the late Elijah "Buck" Lamm and the late Leona Bass Lamm. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Lamm; and sister, Joyce Daniels. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Jerry Ingle officiating. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Petrea and husband Darryl of Oakboro; brothers, Bill Lamm and wife Sue of Middlesex, Wiley Lamm and wife Agnes of Elm City; sister, Lillie Speights and husband Jim of Monroe; granddaughter, Elizabeth Bass of Stanfield; step grandson, Scotty Petrea and wife Brittany of Midway, and sister-in-law, Betty Lamm of Elm City. Mary was the first female manager for the Holiday Inn Corporation. She worked as manager in various Holiday Inn hotels around North Carolina for over 30 years.
