Mary Wallace

Mary Ann Penninger Wallace, 103, of Midland, NC passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Wallace was born July 9, 1914 to the late Will Arwood Penninger and Bessie Ann Pope Penninger. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Jackson Wallace; son, Jerry Brown Wallace; all of her siblings; and the mother of her three grandchildren, Martha Criscoe-Grier.

Survivors include her son, Allen J. (Pat) Wallace of Locust; grandson, Jason (Tasha) Wallace of Concord; grandson, John (Kelly) Wallace of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Katherine Rigdon of Concord; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jett and Lakeley Wallace and Grace, Samuel and Noah Rigdon.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, 13575 Broadway Ave, Midland. At other times the family will be gathering at her son Allen's home at 216 Smith Street in Locust. Mrs. Wallace will be laid to rest beside her husband during a private family service, officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs and Rev. Dr. Gene Cole.
