Mary Webb

Mrs. Mary Huneycutt Barbee Webb, 102, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. She was born on December 31, 1908 in Stanly County to the late John Gidion and Rosa Hatley Huneycutt. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Walter Barbee; second husband, John Tazwell Webb; sons, Herman and Carmon Barbee; and one grandchild. She was the oldest of five deceased brothers and five deceased sisters. Mrs. Webb was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust and retired from Cannon Mills. A private family service will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. William S. Ketchie officiating. There will be 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will be at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Locust. She is survived by sons, Velt “Bud” Barbee and wife, Louise, of Stanfield and Ken Barbee, of Concord; daughters, Lorene Almond and husband, Odell, of Locust, Doris Imlay, of Charlotte, and Donna Barbee, of Salisbury; step sons, Max Webb, of Madison and Glenn Webb, of Stoneville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
