Mary White

Mary Catherine Helms White, 90, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Mary was born August 21, 1930 in Concord to the late John Westley Helms and the late Cora Jacobs Helms.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Phillip I. White; daughter, Claudette Kiker; brothers, Floyd, Lonnie, and Edward Helms; and sister, Irene Thomas.

Mary retired from Cannon Mills after 44 years.  She loved the Lord.  Mary was a devoted follower of the Pentecostal Holiness.  She enjoyed reading her Bible, singing, testifying and witnessing.  Mary was a loving mother and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family and grandbabies.  Mary will be missed very much.

Survivors include son, Roger Isaiah (Carolyn) White of Bessemer City; daughter, Cathy Kay Huggins of Salisbury; son, Ronald Lee (Peggy) White of Kannapolis; daughter, JoAnn (James) Mahaffey of Salisbury; son, Donald Ray White of Kannapolis; 7 grandchildren, Brenda Clark, Cindy Kiker, Vickie Kiker, Tonia White, Wendy Anderson, Jammie M. Adcock, and Jennifer M. Tilley; 10 great-grandchildren, Amber McClain, Alexis Christian, Christina Trinidad, Nathan Kiker, Holly Gibson, Dylan Anderson, Alyssa Anderson, Makaylia Adcock, Andrew Adcock and T.J. Tilley; 3 great great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Concord Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Posey.  Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery, 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord.
