Mary Whitley

Mary Elizabeth Barnes Whitley, 65 years of age, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mary was born March 7, 1950 in Rowan County to the late James Edgar Barnes and the late Retha Nadine Keller Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, December 7, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 3:00 pm at First Assembly of God in Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Bob Gruver and Rev. Garry Baker. Burial will follow at the Old Whitley Cemetery, 16524 Austin Road, Locust, NC .

Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Darrell Lane Whitley of Locust; son, Cody (Julie) Whitley of Locust; daughters, Tonda (Kevin) Maggard of Dayton, OH, and Tassa (Chad) Whitley of Locust; brother, James "Buddy" Barnes, Jr. of Salisbury; sister, Darlene McGinnis of Enochville, NC; eight grandchildren and three great grandchilren,.
