Mary "Ginger" Cocherell

Mary "Ginger" Virginia Cocherell, 72, of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at her daughter's residence in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Cocherell was born April 7, 1949 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Ernest Roland Wilson and the late Lula Viola Burris.She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Ray Cocherell, one brother, Jerry Wayne Wilson, and her sister, Gentalee Allmon.

The family invites you to New Grace Baptist Church, 1160 Warren Coleman Blvd, Concord, NC 28025 at 11:30 am on January 7, 2022 for a Life Tribute presentation before the service. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm and will be in the church sanctuary. The services will be officiated by Rev. Allen Montgomery. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Survivors include her brother, William (Brenda) Wilson, her son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Cocherell and daughters, Rhonda Cocherell of Lake Worth, FL, Jatana (Grey) Savage of Kannapolis, NC, and Savannah (Kevin) Robbins of China Grove, NC. Ginger is survived by eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She enjoyed serving God as a Sunday School teacher at her church, creating beautiful scrapbooks, playing the Hay Day video game with her family, scenic drives, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing cards with her friends. Most of all, she valued time together with those she loved.

It was an honor and privilege to countless lives to share her friendship, creativity, sense of humor, support, and solid Christian influence of her love. She was an extraordinary woman of God and will be missed more than words can express.
