Mary "Lib" Howell

Mary “Lib” Howell went to be with Jesus on March 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Scotty, and husbands James Nations, Richard Wagner, Billie Phillips, and Joe Howell as well as siblings Randolph Peck, Dorothy Wehunt, Linda Peck, and Larry Peck.

She is survived by her children Sheila Nelson (David) of Charlotte, NC; Jim Nations (Peggy) of The Villages, FL; her grandchildren Adam Nations (Caitlin) of Orlando, FL; Leigh Ann Blanchette (Rick) of Orlando, FL; Taylor Nelson (Cayla) of Columbia, SC; Victoria Nelson of Columbia, SC; and great grandchildren Jedi, Joaquin, Norah, and Hendrix. She is also survived by siblings Gladys Campbell of Gainesville, GA; Margaret Bennett of Gainesville, GA; Lillian Attaway of Dallas, TX; Patsy Hickman (Eddie) of Lutz, FL; Carolyn White (Jimmy Goble) of Gainesville, GA; Brenda Cheek of Gainesville, GA; and the children and grandchildren of the Joe Howell family.

Lib and her husband James owned N & N Upholstery in Haw River, NC, for twenty-five years.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, where she founded the prayer shawl ministry and was involved with missions. She enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework of all types, and she designed furniture, home decor and clothing.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Drive NE., Concord, NC. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 pm in the chapel.
