Matthew Lalonde

Matthew Mark LaLonde, 34, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Denver, Colorado.

Matthew was born January 7, 1988, in Westwood, New Jersey to Mark David LaLonde and Carolyn Elizabeth LaLonde.  He moved to Florida at the age of 2 and resided there for the majority of his childhood.

Matthew was a fighter; some may even say he had a soulful resilience.  He was up against the disease of addiction.  Matthew was the most fun, loving, and kind person.  He was a son, brother, and most importantly a friend.  Matthew was known for his curiosity, humor, intelligence, and ability to fix anything.  In his life, he experienced many joys such as traveling, snowboarding, playing guitar, fixing cars, building bikes, and so much more.  He was surrounded by people who loved him and supported him with all of his endeavors.  Matthew touched the lives of many, and he will be dearly missed.  Life is the stopping place to the rest of eternity, and our destination is better than we could ever imagine.  We will cherish the memories of his time on Earth each and every day.  For us, this is not a goodbye, but a so long for now until we meet again.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Carolyn LaLonde; sisters, Erin LaLonde and Kellsie Rabarozzi; brother-in-law, Giancarlo Rabarozzi; and nieces, Isabella, and Alessandra.  He is preceded in death by his father, Mark LaLonde, and his nieces, Rosalie and Juliette.

A memorial gathering in celebration of Matthew's life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Drive NE, Concord, NC 28025.  Fr. Jerome Chavarria will perform a blessing at noon.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation "In Memory of Matthew LaLonde" to Denver Rescue Mission's Harvest Farm (HarvestFarm.org https://secure.denverrescuemission.org/give/384082/#!/donation/checkout?c_src=header ), a non-profit organization that helps and aids so many people.
