Matthew Shong

Matthew Olin Shong, 43, of Harrisburg, NC passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Matthew was born May 18, 1978 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Olin Dale Shong and the late Nancy Jo Segraves Shong.

Survivors include his sister, Sarah Shong Turner and husband Jason of Ellijay, GA; nephews, Noah and Seth; niece, Grace; his son, Aiden; as well as his aunt, two uncles, and several cousins.

Matt was a 1997 graduate of Central Cabarrus High School, where he participated in the marching band.  He pursued a musical performance degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as an accomplished trumpet player.  He loved cooking, the Carolina Panthers and his family.  Matt will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

A private memorial service to honor Matt's life will be held at a later date.
