Mattie Mullis

Mattie Phyllis Mullis, 75, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mattie was born January 22, 1946 in Union County to the late William Boyce Rushing and the late Mary Lena Rushing. She was also preceded in death by brother, Maurice " Dob " Rushing and sister, Blake Brantley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM -12:45 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home's of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Stony Benfield. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street Oakboro, NC.

Mattie was a proud member of the Christian Cooking Convoy of Oakboro and was loved by many family and friends.

Survivors include husband, Glenn Edward Mullis; daughters, Cathy Gardner, Tina Millen; step-daughters, Tamara Pickler, Jane Wittman; grandchildren, Brandie Helms, Holly Strickland, Stacey Smith, Jamie Millen, April Millen, Cody Wittman, Ashley Smith and numerous great-grandchildren.
