Maureen Tucker

Maureen Hinson Tucker, 82, of Albemarle, passed away, Friday, January 4, 2013 at the home of her son. The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm. The service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church. At other times the family will meet at the home of her son, Dolan Tucker, 510 Acorn Acres, Norwood. Rev. Wayne Richardson will officiate and the burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Born July 13, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Taft Hinson and the late Mildred Hinson Parker. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Tucker in 2003 and her son, Michael Kevin Tucker. She is survived by her son, Dolan Tucker and wife Jo of Norwood; grandchildren, Glenn D. Tucker, Jr. “Dan” and wife Susan and Alan Kent Tucker and wife Christi all of Albemarle; great grandchildren, Hank Tucker, Kevin Tucker, Luke Tucker and Rebecca Lynn Tucker. Mrs. Tucker was a homemaker and was active in the Nobels, the Rainbow Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star. She also served at Oak Grove Baptist in various capacities. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1002 Wiscassett St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
