Mavis B. Cochran, 83, of Concord, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, NC.
Mrs. Cochran was born September 23, 1930 in Stanfield to the late Charles Macon Brooks and Virginia Lee Brooks Williams. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Cochran; a brother, Charles Brooks and a sister, Helen Crowell.
She enjoyed traveling to the Amish country in Pennsylvania. Mavis was an Atlanta Braves fan and her favorite NASCAR driver
was Kasey Kahne. She spent many hours cross stitching and was a seamstress as well.
A memorial service will take place at Highland Baptist Church of Concord on Monday, September 1, 2014 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
She is survived by her loving children, Mark Cochran and wife Debbie, Dale Cochran and wife Dee, Shelia Tucker and husband Richard and Myra Cochran; five grandchildren, Brandon Cochran and wife Kelley, Matthew Tucker and wife Keisha, Travis Cochran, Trevor Cochran and Amanda Queen and husband Michael; four great grandchildren, Tony Queen, Erin Queen, Joshua Queen and Blake Tucker; and two sisters, Kay Haigler and Betty Morgan.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to The Oaks at Town Center, 6300 Roberta Rd. Harrisburg, NC 28025 or Highland Baptist Church, 309 Linden Ave. SW, Concord, NC 28027
