Mawsa Stirewalt

Mawsa Elliott Stirewalt, 101 years of age, formerly of China Grove, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg. Mawsa was born November 17, 1912 in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late Edward Columbus Elliott and the late Texie Harris Elliott. She was also preceded in death by husband of 72 years, Berlin Alexander Stirewalt. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church at 6001 Old Salisbury Concord Road in Kannapolis officiated by Dr. Wayne Ratcliffe and Rev. David Raiford. Burial will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Survivors include daughter, Helen (Roy) Moore of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Eric (Robin) Moore of Concord, NC, and Brent (Catherine) Moore of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Jake, Catherine, and Jordan.
