Maxine Burleson

Maxine Turner Burleson, 89, of Albemarle, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home. She was born on April 2, 1921 in Stanly County to the late Thomas Richard and Victoria Rose Hathcock Turner. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Von Tucker, who passed away in 1963; second husband, JD Burleson, who passed away in 2007; sons, Kenneth Ray and Richard John Tucker; and grandson, Jeffrey Russell. Maxine was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and a retired seamstress from Allison’s. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Adam Hatley officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her son, Mark Tucker and wife, Barbara, of Norwood; daughter, Sylvia Byrd, of Albemarle; step daughters, Lorie Kimmer, Terry Hopson, and Roxie Howard; ten grandchildren; many step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
