Maxine Tucker

Maxine Burleson Tucker, 89, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Spring Arbor.

Maxine was born August 25, 1931 to the late Lee Ander Burleson and Bessie Hathcock Burleson.

She was also preceded in death by husband Malcolm Ray Tucker, brothers James Edward Burleson, Sr., Shelby Leon Burleson, Hubert Earl Burleson, Rayvon Burleson, Macon Lee Burleson, Newell Niven Burleson, Sr., Ernest Burleson, and sister Louise Caseman.

She is survived by daughter Lori (Mike) Ussery, grandson Daniel Yuri Ussery, and granddaughter Julia Ussery of Concord, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

Maxine and Malcolm lived in Red Cross for 37 years. Maxine worked at Wiscasset Mills, then ran a daycare for several years. She loved caring for children. After they retired, they moved back to Albemarle and lived in College Park, where they had many great friends and neighbors. Special thanks to the entire staff at Spring Arbor for their compassion and dedication to their residents.

A private graveside funeral will be held for the family. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice of Troy, 1024 Albemarle Rd. #904, Troy, NC 27371.
