May Cynthia Hall, 67, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at her daughter's home in Harrisburg, North Carolina. Cynthia moved to North Carolina, where she had full-time in-home care by her daughter, Christine.
Cynthia was born September 23, 1954, in Kingston, Jamaica, to the late Amos Archibald Hall and the late Mavis Taylor. She was lovingly raised by Mrs. Roslyn Turpin nee Hall, otherwise known as "Aunt Rose," who also preceded her in death. Cynthia was also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Tracy-Ann Walker.
She started off as a teacher in Jamaica, but found her passion in nursing in the United States. She migrated to Baltimore, where she later brought over her 5 remaining children to be with her. She loved visiting her home and friends in Jamaica. She enjoyed writing, reading the Bible, cooking and baking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Cynthia was extremely private, easy-going and lovable. She was the "adopted mom" to so many. Cynthia was a loving ma, mama, grandma and sister. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel. Cynthia will be laid to rest in St. Michaels Anglican Church Cemetery in St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies.
Survivors include daughter, Dorant "Patsy" Nooks of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Christine Benskin and husband Ryan of Harrisburg, NC; daughter, Andrea Nooks of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Nadraka Mullings of Baltimore, MD; son, Mario Walker of Baltimore, MD; 13 grandchildren, Althina, Courtney, Alrico, Kayla, Sebastian, Kaelyn, Mekhai, Meghan, Carlo, Matthew, Gary, Marcus and Ariana; and several siblings.
