MD Curtis, age 84, of University Place Retirement & Nursing Center, passed away on Tuesday, November 01, 2011. A Graveside service will be held at The Salisbury National Cemetery on Monday, November 07, 2011 at 1 pm, with Rev. Mark Belue officiating. MD was born on February 6, 1927 in Piney Flats, Tennessee, to the late Maynard D. and Rowie Viola Day Curtis. He was an Optician at Royal Optical and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA. He is survived by: daughters, Judy Curtis Pepper of Harrisburg, NC and Sharon Curtis Bryan of Woodbridge, VA; son, Richard E. Curtis of Fredericksburg, VA; sisters, Shirley Curtis Goodman of Bluff City TN and Willie Curtis Feathers of Piney Flats, TN; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
