Megan Brooke Kennedy

Megan Brooke Kennedy, 38, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Megan was born January 1, 1986, in North Carolina to Michael Lynn Kennedy and Susan Kay Thomas.

She was also preceded in death by grandparents, Bill Kennedy and Myra Kennedy and sister, Ali Thomas.

Megan loved being a mom to her two beautiful daughters and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She had a big heart and showed kindness to everyone she encountered. She, hands down, made the best baked spaghetti and enjoyed spending time at the beach.

The family will receive friends from 2pm-3:45pm on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 4pm in the Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Steve Barbee.

Survivors include daughters; Breahana Kennedy and Baylee Watkins; father, Michael Lynn (Fran) Kennedy of Oakboro, NC; mother, Susan Kay (Walter) Thomas of Peachland; sisters, Monica Kennedy, Meleah Kennedy, and Maggie (Camron) Burris; nephews, Alex Sloop, and Kyle Copher; nieces, Madison Kennedy and Sadie Kennedy;  nephew, Leo Burris and grandmother, Frances Harkey.
