Melby Phillips

Mrs. Melby Kathern Kluttz Phillips 69 of 4475 Poplar Tent Road Concord passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Born on October 10, 1940 in Cabarrus County to the late Walter Monroe and the late Jessie Mae Collins Kluttz. Melby was a fighter, and she fought a tough battle until going on to be with her husband Eugene Phillips. She was a member of God’s Church of Faith, and was a CNA 2 with Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held at God’s Church of Faith, 811 Elm Street Kannapolis, NC 28082 on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 4:30 until 5:30 PM, services will follow at the church at 5:30 PM, with the Rev. Jeff Upright officiating. The family meeting place will be the home of her daughter Elizabeth Johnson at 165 Rutledge Avenue Concord. Survived by; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Johnson of Concord; son, Roger Eugene Phillips of Red Cross; grandchildren, Andrea Elizabeth Kluttz, Joshua Dwight Kluttz, Brison Dale Phillips, Hali Kathern Phillips; great-grandchildren, Austin Eugene Kluttz, Logan Lee Kluttz.
