Melissa Almond Hyatt passed away on February 22, 2025, at her home. She was born on June 15, 1973, in Concord to her parents, Harold E. Almond and Peggy Hill Walker.
Melissa was the beloved wife of Michael E. Hyatt, sharing 18 years of marriage and 26 years of love together. She is survived by her Husband, Michael; her son, Shaun Patrick Almond: her stepfather, John Walker; her sister, Theresa Watson, and her husband, Edward; their children, Caleb, Benjamin, and Abigail; and her half - sister, Hannah. She also leaves behind loved aunts and uncles, all of Concord; her half-in-law and best friend, Carolyn Shousky; and her godchildren of Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Craven and Gertrude Almond and C.O. and Lizzie Mae Hill; and her older sister, Deanna S. Almond.
Melissa had a deep love for life’s simple joys. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, camping, fishing, and taking family trips to the beach. A devoted fan of New Kids On The Block, she attended 13 concerts with her best friend, Carolyn, cherishing every moment-including their most recent show in July 2024 in Charlotte. She adored dolphins, turtles, butterflies, and Stitch from Disney’s “Lilo and Stitch”. Known affectionately as “Pebbles” for her red hair, Melissa had a radiant smile that could light up any room. Her kindness and unique spirit touched all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.
