Melissa Snyder

Melissa Mathews Snyder, 37 years of age, of Banner Elk, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Newland.

Mrs. Snyder was born December 31, 1979 in Bullock County, Georgia to Robert "Bob" E. Mathews and Sarah Brockwell Mathews.

The body will lie in state from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 14, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle where family and friends are welcome to pay their respects. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Annunciation Catholic Church in Albemarle, officiated by Father Peter Fitzgibbons and Father Peter Gober. Burial will follow the mass at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

The family will receive friends at a reception/lunch after the burial on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, Edward John Snyder, III of Banner Elk; her beloved son, Edward John Snyder, IV; mother in law, Elizabeth Lake Inman Snyder of Albemarle; two sisters, Amanda Musgrave and family (Aaron Musgrave and children Kaylee and Keegan) of Fairfield, IL and, Heather Mathews of Winston Salem.
