Melvin Kenneth Huneycutt - October 31, 1931-March 4, 2015

Melvin at 83 years old, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday March 4 at North East Hospital. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Canton Baptist Church on Saturday at 3 pm, and will be preceded by a 30 minute state. The family will be gathering at the home of Melvin and Marie.

He served in the United States Army from 1949-1951. He has a legacy of civil servitude as a Stanly County Commissioner 1986-1994. He was the business owner and operator of Quenby Auto Center in Albemarle and the proprietor of Huneycutt Pig Farms in the Millingport Community, and he was a lifetime member of Canton Baptist Church. He was a devoted loving husband, and father for 62 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents the late Rufus Elexander Huneycutt and the late Ellen Bowers Huneycutt , 9 siblings as well as one great grandchild Brynlee Ann Huneycutt. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dollie Marie Tucker Huneycutt and five children Michael Eugene Huneycutt (Pattie), Rodney Kenneth Huneycutt (Janet), Kevin Lee Huneycutt(Ann), Todd Lyle Huneycutt (SanDee) and Cemita Huneycutt Gibbs (Joe). As well as his youngest sibling Keith “Bob” Huneycutt . He and Marie have 15 grandchildren: Miena Huneycutt Powell, Nicholas Huneycutt, Robbie Huneycutt, Adam Huneycutt, Darren Huneycutt, Anya Huneycutt, Andrew Huneycutt, Makayla Huneycutt Mabry, Bailey Gibbs, Eric Huneycutt, Tristen Huneycutt, Griffin Huneycutt, Ansley Gibbs, Rhett Huneycutt and Sawyer Gibbs. Also, they have 5 great grandchildren: Elijah Powell, Preston Powell, Bryson Huneycutt, Myles Mabry, and Olivia Huneycutt.
