Merlyne Blansett

Merlyne Shows Blansett, 92 years of age, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Blansett was born March 21, 1922 in Louisiana. She was the last of nine children that were born to the late William Hardy Shows and the late Ida Lavenie Rasberry Shows. She was also preceded in death by husband of 68 years, Marion Green Blansett on December 24, 2013; her son, Thomas Blansett; four brothers; and four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The graveside service will be on Friday at 3 pm at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Harker of Midland; Grandchildren, Terrie Murphy of Concord and Alan Harker and wife Heather of China Grove; and five great-grandchildren.
