Micah Sequoia Winston

Micah Sequoia Winston, of Harrisburg, passed away at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. He was diagnosed at birth with a rare congenital heart defect and lived one month and thirteen days before suffering from a sudden cardiac event on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.Micah was born July 10, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina to Jesse Ajani Winston and Sequina Bianca DuBose Winston. His parents spent several years preparing for his arrival and were ecstatic to finally meet him. He possessed a beautiful spirit and in his brief time with his family enjoyed listening to music, playing with his Montessori toys, and cuddles. His bright, attentive eyes and toothless grin could light up a room. Micah was a joy to all he encountered including his family, nurses, and doctors, and will be dearly missed.  Survivors include mother, Sequina Bianca DuBose Winston, father, Jesse Ajani Winston, sister, Ayame Winston, uncles Jelani Winston and Michael DuBose, aunt Kenya Stewart, and grandparents Regina DuBose, and Jesse and Bisa Winston. 

A visitation will begin on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 1:00-2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord located at 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28025 with a memorial gathering to be held on Monday, August 26th at 7:00 pm at 6800 Harris Depot Rd. Harrisburg, NC 28075.

Memorials and in-memory gifts can be made to The Noonan Syndrome Foundation in honor of Micah Sequoia Winston.
