Michael Cutshaw

Michael Thomas Cutshaw, 54, of Concord, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mike Cutshaw was born June 17, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Richard and Laraine Cutshaw.  He was the second oldest of nine children. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ivan Cutshaw; Paternal Grandparents Elmer and Beatrice Cutshaw; Maternal Grandparents Donald and Nancy Larkin; Uncle Leeroy Cutshaw, his wife, Debbie Cutshaw and their son Curtis Cutshaw.

Mike had a larger than life personality with an even bigger smile.  He brought life to any room he entered, making sure to be seen and heard.  He was a very devoted son, ferociously protective brother, a loving and devoted husband, loyal friend, but most of all an adoring father with an unconditional love so deep that it was palpable to those around them.  Mike had a huge love for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  One could even say he was their biggest fan.  He was an avid golf player and had a passion for the game.  He also enjoyed bowling and once bowled in several leagues.  It is clear that Mike had many past times and enjoyed life to the fullest.  However, his time with Zach and the memories he made with him were his greatest life's achievements.  Being a father was a dream come true for him and he never took that for granted.  The bond between father and son will forever live on.  Mike's legacy will continue through Zach.

Survivors include Mike's beloved wife of 22 years, Jamie Cutshaw, and their loving son, Zach Cutshaw, both of the home; mother, Laraine Cutshaw, of Lincolnton, NC; siblings, Richard  Cutshaw and wife, Cindie Cutshaw of Maiden, NC; Robert Cutshaw and wife, Misty Cutshaw of Lowell, NC; Melissa Nichols and husband, Robby Nichols of Stanley, NC; Mandy Withers and husband, Jarrett Withers of Pittsboro, NC; Melinda Cutshaw of Huntersville, NC; Jesse Cutshaw and wife, Danielle Cutshaw of Iron Station, NC; Shari Brendle and husband, Jimmy Brendle of Indian Trail, NC; Kellie Vanek and husband, Brian Vanek of Willow Spring, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Friday, December 3, 2021, at United Wesleyan Church, 2601 Rocky River Rd., Charlotte.  The funeral service in celebration of Mike's life will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 pm at United Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Patrick Dagenhart.  Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, Concord.

As his soul ascends to heaven we remember John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (in honor of his late father, Richard Ivan Cutshaw).
