Michael Furr

Michael "Cool"  Furr, 48, of Albemarle, was called home by Jesus on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Michael was born March 12, 1972 in Stanly County to the late Gary Donald Furr and Kathy Delorse Mauldin Taylor.

He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hubert Lee Mauldin and Evelyn Vanhoy Mauldin; daughter, Cortney Michelle Furr; sister, Teaoka Freeze; nephew, John Walters; uncle, Jimmy Douglas Mauldin.

The family will receive friends from  5:00 pm to 6:45 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 7:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Minister Jeremiah Walters, Pastor Kelly Wilson, and Pastor Amanda Wilson. He will be laid to rest alongside his daughter, Cortney at 11:00 am on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Norview Gardens in Norwood.

In addition to his mother, Kathy Mauldin Taylor and daddy Mike Taylor, he is survived by his sister, Kim Furr (Jimmy) Register of Albemarle, NC; son, Brandon (Kaitlin) Furr; grandchildren, Braylen and Lane Furr; nephew, Jeremiah (Kelsey) Walters; niece, Ricki Dale Register; great niece, Renesmee "Punkie" Adams; uncle, Barry Mauldin; and numerous cousins.

Michael loved his family and friends. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and watching the Carolina Panthers. Michael loved to fix things and worked as a handyman. He especially enjoyed working at his home church. He had a spontaneous spirit, and was always up for an adventure. God's grace was sufficient for Michael, giving him time to make things right with God, his friends, and family.
