Michael Helms

Michael Brian Helms, 49, of Stanfield, passed away July 16, 2021 in Green Mountain, NC.

He was born April 14, 1972 in Cabarrus County to Jerry and Patricia (Yow) Helms.  Michael worked for a Plant Nursery  for many years in which he thoroughly enjoyed.   He graduated from Western Carolina University where he majored in geography.   Michael enjoyed the outdoors and had a unique understanding when it came to plants and trees.  In his free time he would be found listening to music and he loved to read. Michael will be remembered for his adventurous nature and his love for his family. Michael will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael is survived by his loving parents Jerry Wayne Helms and Patricia Yow Helms and his sister, Joan Helms.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Cecil Yow, grandmother Carra Yow, paternal grandmother Lucille Helms, paternal grandfather Paul Helms.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm at Hartsell Funeral, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, 3:00 pm at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Austin officiating.

Burial will take place in the Kinza Memorial Church Cemetery, 4311 Love Mill Road, Stanfield, NC.
