Michael Landers

Michael Henry Landers, 46, of Concord, NC passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

Mike was born March 14, 1975 in Syracuse, NY to Dennis Eugene Landers and Starr Brenda Landers.

Survivors include his wife, Lindsey Landers; their sons, Maddox and Ryker; father, Dennis Landers and wife Debby; mother, Starr Landers; brother, Chris Landers and wife Tina; nieces Marianna Farmer and Eleanor Fuller; brother, Jeff Landers and wife Cindy Bartlett; and nieces Haylee Robinson, Olivia Bartlett and Sophia Landers.

Mike was a dedicated husband, father, coach, teacher and advocate.  He was passionate about helping others and inspiring those around him to be and do their best.  As a husband and a father, Mike was always lighthearted, thoughtful and fun; he was the heart of our family -- perpetually creating memorable experiences and ensuring that we felt loved.  He was the person who could make us all smile and laugh, looking at life with levity.  Mike was dedicated to the Community Service focused AWSUM Club, #servicebeforeself, seeking to support others and inspire student leaders.  As an educator, Mike was a fierce advocate, demanding the best from his students and colleagues.  Mike was proud of the work he did in the community, proud of his students - and most proud of his sons, who participated in many of the fundraisers Mike organized.  Mike was a role model for many, and the impact Mike has had on his friends, family, students, community, and education is immense.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A drop-in viewing for friends of Mike will be held from 12:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC. A private funeral service with Mike's family will be officiated by Michael Johns, followed by a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike’s name to AWSUM Communities and Schools.
