Michael Vernon Hunsucker, 50, of Concord, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. Mike was born December 30, 1963 to the late Vernon Hunsucker Jr. and Sue Hunsucker of Locust, NC. He attended West Stanly High School and Worked at Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Marine as a shop foreman since their opening at Concord Mills. Michael's one passion was his family. He loved them more than life itself and you could tell this whenever he spoke of them, which was very often. He was a devoted and loving family man. He loved music, playing the drums, dancing, anything that was remote control, riding motorcycles and most of all motocross. He cherished the many years his sons raced motocross. He was their mechanic, bike washer, engine builder and most of all their biggest fan. There was not too much he could not work on, he amazed us with the talents God had given him. He had a very large extended family including his friends, motocross family and coworkers at Bass Pro which he loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at First Baptist of Locust, 320 S. Central Ave. Locust, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross. He left behind, until Jesus calls them home to be reunited with him, his loving wife of 24 years, Deborah Ann Sherrill Hunsucker of Concord, NC; two sons, Dustin James Hunsucker of Concord and Michael Bradley Hunsucker of Concord; mother, Sue Hunsucker of Oakboro; two sisters, Kristi Springer and husband Tony of Oakboro and Melissa Carpenter of Indian Trail; mother in law, Sylvia of Concord, NC; father in law, Ron Sherrill of Myrtle Beach; brother-in-law, Rodney Sherrill of Concord and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation, 7575 West Winds Blvd. NW, Concord NC 28027. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Hunsucker family.
