Michael Dean Kost, 59 years of age, of Charlotte, formerly of Cabarrus County, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Kost was born December 21, 1954 in Minnesota to John Clemens Kost and Lois Irene Kost. He was preceded in death by wife, Brenda Carol Kost in 2009, and granddaughter, Lacey Kost in 2013.
He enlisted in the army in 1975. Michael went to work with IBM after he was discharged in 1977 and stayed with IBM for 16 years.
He was a Band Member of the White Earth Reservation in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland officiated by Father Patrick Hoare. Military rites will be presented by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Survivors include sons, Billy (Kim) Kost of Stanfield, Tommy (Suzie) Kost of Mt. Pleasant, and Cody (Hailey) Kost of Locust; daughters, Niaomi (Miguel) Rumbo and Natona "Toni" (Leon) Bush, both of Concord; ten grandchildren; fiancé, Sheila Floyd; brothers, George Kost of Arlington, Virginia and sister-in-law, Pat, and Dave Kost of Solon, Ohio; sisters, Kathy (Tom) Cole of Frederick, Maryland and Susan (Tony) Antonelli of Ladysmith, Virginia; and nieces and nephew.
The family would like to especially thank the hospice of Indian Trail and Macedonia Baptist Church of Midland.
