Miky Huneycutt

Miky Joe Huneycutt, 71 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home.

Miky was born July 21, 1946 in Stanly County, NC, to the late J Van Huneycutt and Rella Mae Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Oakboro and will be officiated by Rev. Jonathan Waits and Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery.

Survivors include wife of 49 years, Marilyn Joy Huneycutt of Oakboro; mother, Rella Mae Huneycutt of Albemarle; daughter, Meredith Broadaway and husband Scott of Oakboro; daughter, Melanie Hudson and husband Matt of Albemarle; sister, Zoe Burleson and husband Tim Huneycutt of Albemarle; sister-in-law, Myra Bowers and husband Doug of Albemarle; seven grandchildren, Zach, Brennan, Harrison, Katie, Gavin, Cooper,and Brody; and many nieces and nephews.

Miky was a US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Grant County. After retiring from Lance Inc. of Charlotte, he worked part-time for Hudson Pool Distributors and Bowers Farm. Throughout his life he enjoyed raising cattle, camping, traveling, yard work, and spending time with his grandchildren. Miky attended Oakboro First Baptist Church.
