Mildred Louise Furr Almond, age 82 of Oakboro, passed away on January 29, 2012 at CMC-Main. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, officiated by Elder Larry Austin, with 30 minute state. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Elaine Efird at 127 Jacob Road, Oakboro. Mrs. Almond was born in Stanly County on March 19, 1929, to the late Craven Cephus Furr and the late Bessie Rosetta Sides Furr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guilford Lee Almond. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Efird and her husband Jimmy of Red Cross and Kathy Crisco and her husband Mark of Albemarle; three brothers, Eldridge Furr of Albemarle, Stephen Furr of MI, and Tommy Furr of Locust; two sisters, Blanche Burris of Albemarle and Jean Carelock of SC; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
