Mildred worked for Mr. Wells Rogers at American & Efird Mills, Inc. in the payroll and personnel departments until the birth of her first son. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing tennis and golf, Women's Circle, playing bridge and needlework. She won many tournaments and cherished her memories on the tennis courts and golf courses with her many friends for over 70 years. She was a Garden Club member (Floridian Club) and volunteered for the Stanly County Museum and Stanly Regional Medical Center as a "Pink Lady", and was a member of the Albemarle High School Boosters for many years. Mildred was a deacon and loved her church activities, she was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Albemarle for over 60 years. She was a Tar Heel and Hornets fan, as well as a fan of the Albemarle Bulldogs basketball team. She lovingly supported her grandchildren in sports and enjoyed watching Logan play tennis, Adam play baseball, Jay play golf, and Emily cheerleading. Most of all Mildred enjoyed being with family and friends.
