Mildred “Mick†Furr Cagle, 84, of Campground Road, New London, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Cagle was born October 6, 1926, in Montgomery County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick “Pat†Cagle in 1997; father, Levi Furr; mother, Eliza Jane Poplin Furr and one grandson, Todd Patrick Tucker. Mick and her husband were the original owners and operators of Pat & Mick’s Seafood. She was a charter member of Highland Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times, the family will meet at her home. The funeral will be Sunday, November 7, at 2:00 pm with a 30 minute state, at Highland Baptist Church, New London. Rev. Doland Humphries, Rev. Yates Brooks, and Rev. Paul Crews will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include sons, Jerry Cagle, Rick Cagle and wife, Kim, of New London; daughters, Barbara Hinson, Jan Thomas and husband, Jimmy, Nina Efird and husband, Kevin, all of New London, and Becky Smith and husband, Tony, of Rockwell; son, Wayne Mullis of Concord; sister, Peggy Herrin of Oakboro; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
