Mildred Thomas
June 14, 1958 — January 4, 2016
Mildred "Tina" Priscilla Medlin Thomas, 57 years of age, formerly of Eldorado Street in Troy, and presently of Ellerbe, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at FirstHealth Hospice House in West End.
Tina was born June 14, 1958 in Union County to the late Floyd Burnette Medlin and the late Mildred Jahalla Huneycutt Kizar. She was the granddaughter of the late Grady and Myrtle Huneycutt. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dixie Harris; and niece, Rita K. Stuart.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Hoyle Huneycutt and Rev. Buck Cannup. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of her son, Pete Thomas, 1322 Wiscassett St., Albemarle.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Hartsell and wife Jennifer of Albemarle, Pete Thomas of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Samantha Pannell, Hailey Hartsell, Kellie Hartsell, Abbey Thomas, all of Albemarle; one great-grandson, Braylen Pannell of Albemarle; nephew, Jeffrey Harris; aunts, Rosa H. Bullard and Arleane Medlin; uncle, Hoyle Huneycutt; cousins, Dawn Lee and Jonathan Bullard; and numerous other cousins.
Tina loved her family and friends. She enjoyed reading and playing with her grandbabies. Tina felt at home in the country and loved being outdoors.
