Millard Shannon, Sr

Mr. Millard Eugene Shannon Sr., 57, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home, following a long battle with Cancer. He was a cherished husband, loving brother, supportive father and a loving grandfather. A visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, from 2 to 4pm and from 6 to 8pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord. He was born in Columbus, OH on February 3, 1956. He was employed with Simplex Grinnell Fire Protection in Charlotte for over 19 years. He was an avid bowler, he loved to restore cars, going camping, carpentry and spending time with his family. He was an independent hard working and strong man who will surely be missed. Left to cherish his memory is his; loving wife of 33 years, Donna McWhorter Shannon; son, JR Shannon and his girlfriend June Vitale of Concord; daughter, Donna Shannon Spurrier and her husband Joshua of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Destiny and Jamie Cupp of Kannapolis and Haley Moheit of Oklahoma; step-grandchild, Marisa Dreher of Concord; brother, George Shannon of Wheeling WV. Additionally, he had many wonderful and caring family and friends who will miss him a great deal. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Shannon family.
