Minnie Inez Harkey Pelkey, 84 years old of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away February 16, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC.
Born October 14, 1932 in Stanly County, NC, she was the first female manager employed by Singer. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her spare time she loved square dancing, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She was loved by everyone that knew her and was described as a caring, generous, Classy Southern Lady.
Minnie was the daughter of the late Mitchell Clark and Becky Barringer. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Clark and her late husband and father of her two children, Junior Jefferson Harkey.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Pelkey; daughter, Jill & husband Doug Gaither of Oriental, NC; son Jeff & wife, Lynn of China Grove, NC; grandson, Jeffery Harkey, Jr & wife, Kristy of Concord and their children, Mina and Jefferson; grandson, Matthew Harkey & wife, Brittany of China Grove, NC and their daughter, Tenley.
The family will be having a private memorial service for Minnie.
