Miriam Johnston

Miriam M. Johnston, 64 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her home.

Miriam was born October 15, 1952 in Bluefield, WV to the late William D. Pendleton and the late Barbara J. Pendleton . She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Johnston; her daughter Barbara J. Johnston; and her siblings, Leonard Pendleton, Pete Pendleton, Sarah Hylton, and William Pendleton, Jr.

Miriam was a very strong willed and kindhearted lady, willing to help anyone she could. She loved all of our family, friends and pets, holding nothing back and giving everything she had. She was a wonderful mother, aunt, sister and friend to all she met and never knew a stranger. Miriam was a hard working woman and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Johnston, Jr and wife Kristy of Norwood; daughters, Amber and husband Daniel Harper of Norwood, Cheyenne Johnston and fiancé Keith Hartsell of Oakboro; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Christopher Pendleton and sister, Patricia Thompson.
