On Thursday, April 21st, 2016, the pall of Alzheimer's was lifted, and Mollie Bagley Jackson, of Charlotte, went to be with her Heavenly Father.
Mollie was born on September 20, 1943, in Henderson, North Carolina, daughter to Isham Trotter Bagley and Ann Stevenson Bagley. She attended Henderson schools, playing on the girl's basketball team while in high school.
Mollie attended East Carolina University for a while, but left ECU to move to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she found work at Celenese, J P Stevens, Duke Power and, eventually, Eastern Air Lines, where she found a home. In 1965 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, continuing her employment with Eastern, only to return to Charlotte in 1969, still with Eastern.
Back in Charlotte, she met the man who would become her husband. In December 1970, she married Jim Jackson, who also worked for Eastern.
Mollie worked at Eastern for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. After enjoying her retirement for five years, she took on the job of managing Quail Hollow Homeowners Association and Quail Hollow South Condominium in April of 1990. In 2002, she added Quail Hollow East Condominim and Quail Hollow West Condominium to her management duties, managing these until 2009. She also retired form QHHA in 2009 and, in 2011, retired from Quail Hollow South.
Mollie's passion was gardening. Even while living in a condominium, she managed to find (or make) space for her flowers and shrubs. She thought nothing of coming home from work and spending several hours in the garden, at times working until dark.
Mollie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim Jackson; three step-children, James Jackson, Jr., Jeff Jackson (Sheri), and Jeanna White (Terry); two grandsons, Alex and Nik; granddaughter, Cassidy; her brother, Trotter Bagley (Nancy); two nieces; three great-nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a nephew.
Per her wishes, there will be no service.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Jackson family.
