Murrel Lee Tyson Taylor, 77, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Brian Center in Monroe. Mrs. Taylor was born January 26, 1934, in Anson County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin Taylor, Sr., in 1993; father, Clyde Lee Tyson; and mother, Zelma Elizabeth Beachum Tyson. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m., Monday, May 16, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Charlotte, officiated by Pastor Jerry Woolery and Pastor Tim Jernigan. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Survivors include her son, James Alvin Taylor, Jr., of Charlotte; daughters, Murrel Lee Arey of Mint Hill, Linda Taylor of Monroe, Shelia R. Sutton of Charlotte, Amy T. Gillum of Trinity, and Mirriam T. Love of Monroe; sisters, Rose Wyckoff and Lois Thomas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
