Myrtle Blakemore

Myrtle Kinley Blakemore, age 74, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, officiated by Rev, Betty Jo Blackmon of Oak Island, NC. A resident of Charlotte, NC, she was born to the late Jesse James and Beulah Cornelia Hasty Kinley on January 13, 1937. Myrtle her husband of 39 years, Charles Otho Blakemore; sisters, Ruby Lee Kinley Mullis, Ruth Kinley Dunlap; brothers, James, Robert, Jessie, Tommy and June. She is survived by her children, Charlotte Ann Blakemore of Calabash, NC, Teresa Lynn Crooks of Albemarle, NC, Daniel and Jan Blakemore of Midland, NC and Mark and Lynda Blakemore if Midland, NC; six grandchildren, Amity Foreman, William Perciful, Jessica Crooks, Kelly Crooks, Krystin Blakemore and Dylan Blakemore; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Myrtle attended schools in Seversville, Thomasboro and Paw Creek. Her husband, Charles, was senior vice-president of Charlotte Aircraft Corporation. Myrtle and Charlie lived across the United States. She loved fishing, gardening and life, as well as, giving and cooking for the holidays. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
