Myrtle Hartsell

February 1, 1925 — February 18, 2017


Myrtle Huneycutt Hartsell, 92 years of age, of Midland, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Pruitt Health in Harrisburg.

Myrtle was born February 1, 1925 in Stanly County, North Carolina, to the late David Arey Huneycutt and the late Roxie Ann Burgess Huneycutt. She was also preceded in death by her husband in 1997, Conrad Jackson Hartsell; two grandchildren, Eric Barbee and Leah Hartsell; six brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 320 S. Central Avenue in Locust from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the church at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr., Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace and Rev. Eddie Barbee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Laney and husband Don of Midland, daughter, Vickie Barbee and husband Doug of Locust, son, Mitchell Hartsell and wife Tammy of Locust, son, Darrell Hartsell and wife Sheila of Locust, son, Rick Hartsell of New London, daughter, Debbie Barbee and husband Eddie of Locust, daughter, Jackie Mullis and husband Robert of Locust, sister, Cora Eudy of Albemarle, sister, Virginia Hartsell of Locust; grandsons, Dale Hartsell, Jr., Dwayne Hartsell, Doug Hartsell, Matthew Hartsell, Ryan Hartsell, Jody Barbee, Devin Barbee, Dustin Barbee, Kyle Laney, and Robbie Mullis; granddaughters, Jennifer Anderson, Tina Downer, Lauren Hartsell, Amanda Hartsell, Megan Clontz, Madison McClain; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Myrtle was a homemaker, loved gardening and tending to her flower garden. She loved to cook Sunday lunch for her family. Myrtle was a member of First Baptist Church in Locust.

The family will be gathering at daughter, Judy's home in Midland.
