Myrtle Thompson

Myrtle Louise Ridenhour Thompson, age 79, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2011, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. . The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Wednesday, January 18 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. At other times, the family will meet at her home. The funeral service will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, on Thursday, January 19 at 2 PM, officiated by Rev. Garry Baker. Burial will follow at the Salem United Methodist Church cemetery. Mrs. Thompson was born on August 10, 1932, in Stanly County, to the late Roy Lee Ridenhour and the late Eva Nichols Ridenhour. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Allen Thompson and stepmother, Blanche H. Ridenhour. She is survived by two sons, Gary Allen Thompson of China Grove and Steven Lynn Thompson of Albemarle; two daughters, Janice Elaine Terry of Salisbury and Ellen Thompson Clapp and her husband, Joel, of Albemarle; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
